The Project

Creative Marketing (NW) Ltd first worked with Bespoke Plates in 2018 when the company was an Instagram startup. After an inspirational meeting we provided the company a vision to compete against the leading players in the market. In order to do this we suggested a compelling website design with an easy-to-order user experience and to diversify our advertising channels beyond Instagram.

The Challenge

The challenge we had was that the number plate sector albeit being very niche, is very competitive. There are lots of bedroom businesses that easily ascertain the DVLA certification and start to sell customised number plates. In addition, many of these sole traders have little overheads and are able to really push the price down. But when running a paid ads campaign, it’s important for the margin to be sufficient enough to cover a cost per acquisition cost. As such reducing prices wasn’t an option.

Solution

So our solution and strategy was to focus on the power of brand to differentiate Bespoke from all the other players. This was done by ensuring the client captures as much user generated content as possible, especially of the very best luxury vehicles they produced plates for. Through consistent social media content and by leveraging influencers, Bespoke quickly rose to stardom receiving enquiries from celebrities including professional footballers. We then scaled the brand by diversifying the paid ad platforms to include Google Ads management.

Results

Within three months the client began receiving a major surge of traffic through the newly introduced advertising platforms including Google Ads. The business rapidly scaled increasing revenue tenfold and absolutely dominating the paid ads auction. Combined with building a strong social brand as well as paid ads, Bespoke has risen to become one of the main players in the curated number plate sector.
