The challenge we had was that the merchandising on eBay & Amazon is very different to the way you present products on a website. On a website the goal is to build an experience that is in line with the company’s branding and ethos. Whereas on eBay/Amazon, it is very much a pricing war exercise. Since the company had never had a proper website, absolutely everything needed doing including organising the products in categories as well as writing professional descriptions. In addition, all the product pictures needed reformatting and optimising.
Our solution was to build an eCommerce website on WordPress as quick as possible with a view to begin building click data from Google Ads and then to refine, improve the websites’ product merchandising in stages. This way the company could continue to sell whilst we worked on the heavy load of tasks for the website backend and design. Our plan was executed perfectly and we have been able to make the company less dependent on eBay/Amazon sales by 30%! This means the company has increased its size and profits by 30%. We did this through running quality Google Ad campaigns using all the best Google practices including smart bidding strategies on performance max campaigns. We optimised the datafeed and are now working on a major SEO strategy to cement the website in the online boxing equipment market for years to come.
